Moving Pains

Well we were finally able to get cable and internet yesterday. To be completely honest it almost feels a little weird to have it back again. Though I'm more than happy being able to know what kind of weather I can expect through out the day. I mean yeah, I was able to step outside and say "Oh it's a little warm!" but it's the time of year when the weather can't make up it's mind of being cold or hot. Ahhh North Carolina. I forgot how fickle you could be.

Things are going well. I'm slowly going through the many boxes we have and the house is starting to look, well, houselike. I am getting tired of all that paper though. And anyone who has done a military move knows exactly what I mean. So much paper...I shudder to think of how many trees died to wrap that handful of nail. I'm not joking either. They wrapped the weirdest things. So far we've only discovered three or four broken things. A lamp (from my Gran) and a few windchimes from my Mom. Thankfully the windchimes were from dollar tree. But still, you'd think that if they took the time to carefully wrap up a pair of sunglasses that they'd have been more careful with a big ol' lamp. One of the mysteries of the universe I guess.

One piece of trouble that I'm running into on a daily basis is trying to find a place for all of our books. We're even using my hope chest--which used to house extra blankets for guests or just really cold days--as a makeshift bookcase. I think my husband and I have a book hoarding problem. Course it doesn't help either that all of the bookcases we own are precariously wobbly from the multiple moves over the past few years. Maybe this is a time for duct tape?
